Description:

Scrum has the Product Owner role. In eXtreme Programming (XP) it’s called the Customer role.  Regardless of the job title, ineffective product management is one of the leading causes of agile project failure.  Now is the time to get serious about having this role reach its full potential!

Too many agile teams settle for mediocrity. They work on improving their software development process, but then waste their improvement by delivering low-value features. In other words, they’ve become faster to market, but without the right product this simply causes faster customer dissatisfaction.  Too many product people (product managers, business analysts and other product facing roles) don’t know how to proactively help their teams build great software that is delivered on time, on budget, with the proper feature set and with high quality.

This intense 2-day boot camp has been built specifically to allow product managers, business analysts and others that traditionally deal with requirements to gain experience in a safe environment. The role of Product Champion (Product Owner in Scrum) is a key role because failure in this role often leads to project failure. The boot camp is designed to give insight into the world of being a Product Champion/Product Owner versus the stereotype of a product manager or business analyst. While many functions are the same, there are some key differences which are exposed and explored throughout the course.

The boot camp gives practical knowledge and skills to the attendees. It also creates friendships and support networks which can be utilized in the future. Learning from each other encourages each person to pay attention to the entire workshop. This results in increased learning as well as helping each attendee understand how they can best help their own teams be successful.
